guitar input problem

when i have my guitar plugged in as the led indicator green light fades it makes a distortion noise i have tryed all sorts of settings for the balance of input volume but i can not get rid of it please help

At the back of the keyboard , where you put in the cable what is the setting of the little switch?
I believe it says; guitar, off and fantom power. Fantom power is for condensor mics. Maybe its switched to this setting?
Other option could be you have an input effect on your guitar?
Check input effects.
