Juno-Gi driver for Macbook M1 MacOS 12 Monterey

Post by izmrmax »

My macbook pro 13 M1 MacOS 12 Monterey detects that the Juno-Gi is connected.

About this Mac > System Report

It shows as:

Code: Select all

JUNO-Gi:

Product ID: 0x0123
Vendor ID: 0x0582 (Roland Corporation)
Version: 0.01
Speed: Up to 480 Mb/s
Manufacturer: Roland
Location ID: 0x01100000 /1
Current Available (mA): 500
Extra Operating Current mA): 0
I've installed the latest driver available on the website for Juno-Gi.

System preferences show the "Juno-Gi" icon. when i click on it, it takes me to a settings page and gives me the following error:

"The device could not be found. This settings will automatically become effective when the device is connected the next time."

About this Mac > System Report still detects Juno-Gi as shown above.

Currently, I can't use the Juno-Gi with my macbook.

Does anyone else have this problem?
Does anyone have a solution for this?

Hello, same issue here; i've tried both monterey and bigsure with the same result.
Can't use my synth as audio/midi interface is frustrating, i don't wanna buy another sound card to register ideas with my daw. I hope Roland will release soon new updates... it's not acceptable this lack of support on a just 10 years old key with usb connection... Roland.... came on... release please the update.

Here the Roland's anwer (disappointed):

Thank you for your feedback and we appreciate it.

Unfortunately I cannot promise you new drives to the Juno GI.

The Juno Gi was originally launched back in 2010 and the evolution in technology, chipsets and software have really gone fast in that period and it makes it hard to still match a 11 year old hardware platform with the latest developments in the new OS systems.

You can find more information and a list of all the compatible products for the new macOS here: https://www.roland.com/global/support/s ... 20101100r/

I apologize for the sad news but there is nothing I can do about it.

We can probably use a midi cable. Midi-to-USBC cable.
