Does that include bread and butter sounds as well?
I respect you making your own patches but personally I don’t see any reason to do so with bread and butter sounds especially when they sound this great. BTW, I found some of the JV-XV piano combination patches to be incredible and better than what was already in the F-S so if you don’t make your own bread and butter sounds you might want to at least give the JV/XV patches a listen??? Just curious.

So Artemio, more about you not using presets…
Re: So Artemio, more about you not using presets…
There are some pretty nice presets that are not bread and butter, and I like them. But I would rather figure those out myself - construct them myself. I haven't, yet
I'm a sampling whore (lol).
But I did get the Fantom for all the sounds I would not be able to afford individually (orchestra, trip to Asia, anyone?).

FBJ, well, I create my own bread&butter sounds too.
These days this takes a lot of time from me, but I am creating my very own user bank to contain patches of electric pianos, bass, synths, pads, effects and so on - all from scratch.
It's kind of a hell-no-to-presets mania, I know. But it's been 5+ years since I do it like this, and this is what makes me sound original.
But I never use same patches in different tracks. My own bank is like a scratch desk. When I'm writing a track, I modify some of my existing patches to fit it and/or create new ones from nothing.
I like walking though presets though, as I can sometimes see some nice way they use matrix controls, fx or other stuff.
Artemio.
P.S. FBJ, did you receive any mail from me?

Re: So Artemio, more about you not using presets…
One more question for you Artemio. So I presume that by now you have had the opportunity to do many samples boosting the EQ levels before hand to get a better final sample. How is this working for you? Does it completely solve the problem in your opinion? Do you see or have you run into problems doing it this way? Again, just curious.
Oh yeah, I e-mailed you. Did you get it? If not it looks like we are having problems again.

Re: So Artemio, more about you not using presets…
Well, I sometimes do use EQ to boost highs (+4..6 dB at 8KHz) in pre-sampling FX when I sample external audio. Not that I really need it, though.
When re-sampling I don't usually use any EQ on highs, but sometimes I might add some in mastering.
All this doesn't fix the global problem, however, but I'm not disappointed anyway.
FS is such a damn great board that I can't even say a word. Jim, it ROCKS MY WORLD! Soon you will hear *something* that will try very hard to prove you this...
Yours,
Artemio.
