Having had extensive discussion with the rep at the Roland office in Swansea about the occasional sticking notes on my new FR-4x v-accordion, I now have an email from him saying that Roland can't mend my instrument (even though it's under guarantee) and that he's not confident a brand new one from stock would perform any better. He suggests I return it to the retailer for a refund.
How can any company expect to sell equipment to professional musicians when, in their own words, they can't be confident of its performance in public?
Can I believe what the Roland rep. is saying?
Re: Can I believe what the Roland rep. is saying?
From my own wide-ranging exchanges with Roland reps, they have all been done with integrity, reliability and professionalism (as well as a huge amount of experience). I'm not familiar with the accordion side of the business but suspect many that I know in Swansea will deal with these instruments as well as the synth ones too.
Sounds to me like that there's a design flaw which isn't planned to be addressed any time soon. So you're getting the chance to get your money back whilst you still can. It would seem that they are caring about their customer.
Go get the refund and then enjoy getting an alternative that's fully operational and to your liking.
