Just about a week away mates...
The start of another season of tantalizing, globe hopping excitement known as Formula One automobile racing.
There's the beautiful cars...
The excitement of "altercations"...
The lovely "scenery"...
Monaco!...
And, what car could even get up and go without a nice rear end?!! ;-D
Anyone for F1?

Re: Anyone for F1?
Had no idea you were into F1, me old china!
I've followed it for years - from about 1990 (4yrs before we lost Ayrton Senna) or so. Oh, the changes in that time - remember active suspension?! lol etc, etc, etc
I totally agree with the your pictorial summary and have so missed it all over the winter months... bring it on, Melbourne!

Re: Anyone for F1?
I think it was in 1987 or 1988, when they played the Detroit F1 Grand Prix on the tele here that I got bit hard by the F1 fever. Shortly thereafter, ESPN and then Speedvision started carrying most of the F1 races and I have not missed a season since.
I remember oh so well, watching the 1991 race from Spa and having absolutely no idea of who this young chap named Michael Schumacher was. Qualified the Jordan to 7th spot in his first F1 race! And the rest as they say was history in the making. Have fond memories of Michael duking it out with Mika Hakkinen in the late 90's. Alas, the Ferrari was not quite a match for the McLaren's yet, but what great races!
Although I enjoy the spectacle of Monaco, it is the great race tracks that I love to watch, and there are two that take top honors in my book, namely Spa Francorchamps and Suzuka.
Bring on Albert Park!

Albert Park was a stone groove! Delayed qualifying because of rain and a race to see who could best manage their tyres.
As for Kimi..."leave him alone, he knows what he is doing!!" Thanks for a fun filled Aussie weekend and congrats to the entire Lotus team!
Malaysia next weekend.

Re: Anyone for F1?
I was also a big fan of F1, following it up over the years when it was broadcasted on the National Television.
Ayrton Senna was maybe my greatest idol!
I don't see it any more unfortunately as now only the pay channels have the exclusive, and it is really very expensive only to see F1 once in a while.
Sebastian is THE GUY. 4 in a row, not bad for a German! ;-)
Cheers

Re: Anyone for F1?
Congrats to Seb, but I don't find it that exciting when the Championship is already wrapped up with still three races to go! Just bloody hard to beat an Adrian Newey car with Seb in it I guess!
Abu Dhabi in a few more days. I may just have to go watch the Ron Howard movie Rush in the meantime. I didn't get to watch the legendary drivers like James Hunt, Gilles Villeneuve, Mario Andretti and Niki Lauda race, but consider myself lucky to have watched Piquet, Senna, Prost, and Mansell up through the Schumacher, Hakkinen and Alonzo years.
Seb and little friend...

And then there's Singapore...
We'll just call it "Extremely Fast Orchestral Manoeuvre's in the Dark!"
Watch out for that Merlion!
