Preserving samples from romplers

Post by HaveIt »

I just purchased an SRX-08 card for the Fantom X6. Some great drum samples in there. These machines won't last forever and I want to preserve the samples - from a Triton Extreme too. I am sampling them into Sound Forge straight from SP-DIF to get them as accurate as possible. I will not sell or distribute them in anyway, but feel strongly that having purchased a rompler, those samples should be available to me even when the hardware eventually fails.

I own the hardware and won't sell it but may choose to play the samples from other gear or perhaps one day be forced to use other gear to utilize the samples.

How legal is this?

Extreme Sampler Converter, is a very versantile software.
It can be set to sample it self, with many velocity option, a vsti, or an external keyboard/module.

Wow, very nice. Although I would have to program a rhythm kit for all samples. I just kept hitting C4 and changing the sampling number :) Then copied the sample number and name from the SRX08 manual. Obssessive compulsive me...
