system 1m midi problem

hi ive just got the system 1m ,now I cant get the midi on the bottom of the unit to work.the midi ports on the top of the unit work but not the ones on the bottom.as I want to rackmount it into my desk I need the bottom ones to work.anybody know what I am doing wrong...its a little strange I thought they were the same .

Did you change the appropriate settings?
You have to change the MIDI IN connector selection.

This can be found in the manual under: Other Function --> MIDI and Other Settings --> MIDI IN connector selection

sorry my bad did not see that bit in manual and assumed that the midi ports where linked .thanks for the help
