NAMM 2016

Post by Tom_1970 »

With Korg dominating the news I wonder what you expect or wish for this NAMM to come.
Any rumours, gossib or just your opinion about the stuff they come up with.

I hope Roland's going to expand it's System-500 with some nice modules (sequencer at least), but I think it will be a little bit too early to expect this, since they are just releasing the first System-500 modules.

Also I hope for a nice ACB synth with the boutique range als plugouts available, with decent polyphony, good controllers (and plenty of them) and maaybe even multitimbral, so you can load several instances of the plugout you desire or a combination of them.

I wish there will be more affdorable digital rackmixers with more inputs.

The Yamaha montage isn't really interesting for me, but I am curious about the specs of the FM engine.

The Korg Minilogue looks nice and seems very reasonable priced, but the sound doesn't appeal to me.

That would be nice.

I would love a follow up to the Fantom G with Supernatural and ACB synth engines added.

I'll be stumped if they don't use the ACB tech to make a full-size, 8+ voice synth that perhaps takes the best from the Boutique and Aira (plug-out) approaches. One big quality board that can be a JU, a JX, a JP, an SH, whatever. And real MIDI control, haha. Otherwise, I'm seriously not going to get what the point of a lot of this effort was.

Standalone pad sampler thanks, MV8800 quality but not so damn heavy. :-)

Waldorf releases three more Eurorack modules: a modulation, VCA and compressor module.

I am still awaiting my System-500, but I think that these Waldorf modules, together with their NW-1 Wavetable module are a nice addition to my upcoming modular system.

I'm hoping for an MV-9000 and CR-78/TR-606 upgrade for TR-8!
