Vintage Jazz Chorus 120 - any experts?

Hey guys,

i found an old 120 Jazz Chorus on a fleamarket and got it for 500 €.
The owner said that everything is okay with it.

First i freaked out because the Speed and Depth controls didnt make any change when in Chorus mode.
Then i found information that in some of the models its always a fixed setting and you can only change the parameters when in Vibrato mode (which works fine with mine).

So when Chorus/Vibrato turned OFF the speakers just work fine and have the same signal.

But when in Chorus or Vibrato-mode the right speaker sounds quiet different to the left one. Its mold and kind of passiv. Also: when playing really really quiet only the left speaker works. The right one seems almost like it had a noise gate on it.

So my question: Is that normal?
