SSL for these forums

Post by frank123 »

Hi,

I tried to reach this forums using https (SSL), but no luck. Even login and password are transmitted unencrypted. Is there a solution browsing this site using SSL?

It's true. And it's a quite bad thing, even for a free service, because it affects the security of the whole website.

It's currently possible to get proper SSL certificates for free. Of course, this would still require some work on the administration site.

I'd be thankful if this could be fixed.

Not heard of it for free ... Most hosts charge the forum owner for Ssl

Letsencrypt is free and has been active for years! :)
All IT news sites routinely mention their service: they issued more than free 100,000,000 certificates up to now, and provide a cross-platform friendly solution. Hopefully, the forum owners will consider using their certificates as well.
