Do Roland make a budget syncable digital recorder?

Post by GMayle »

I don't use a DAW often for multitrack recording. It would be nice if there was a MIDI/cv syncable cheap 16 or 24 track digital recorder that had the facility to compress and EQ each track. If it had a glue compressor, multiband compressor and master EQ on the output, and a couple of send effects and an insert fx or 2 on each track, it'd probably be a big seller. It'd need a phantom MIC input and preamp too. The reason I mention this is that most of these features are on the MC707, although it's only 8 track. I suspect the same technology could be used to make a 16/24 track recorder with MIDI start stop, a solid state or USB 3 high capacity drive, and if it was around £500, I reckon many people would buy one just to record live away from the DAW.
