Roland CDX-1 has no sound coming from inputs.

Greetings, Roland Clan Forums!

I have exercised every source I could to resolve this problem and this is the last stop before I take my poor unit to the shop. I just bought the unit a few days ago and already it is basically unusable. For one, when I send audio from a keyboard or microphone into the unit (I have tried every input) I can't hear it through the headphones or speakers. I know that it's not the outputs because I can hear the metronome and drums coming from the unit itself. I also know that the unit is able to receive audio because the clipping signal lights and the little VU meter on the display moves up and down when I strike a key. That's only the first problem, and as I write this I realize I'm looking for a miracle and not advice! I'll wait to unload my other two issues. I lf anyone knows anything about this washed up device please leave a post under this topic because there's not much information on it at all! :(
