Howard Jones has a video on the RolandConnect site as well as part of the "official" JP80 release info. Sounds great.

I was wondering... It will be more powerfull then the V-Synth GT? I mean, ok, it's a live machine, so it doesn't have so much real time controls, but what about the synth engine?

It doesn't have the V-Synth engine there. So it will be powerful, but very different.

Artemiy is it possible to have list of PCM synth samples used for VA part of Jupiter-80?

Or at least list of synths used for making those PCMs?

And I believe I don't have to use split if I don't have need to? In other words, I can make a patch where all of mine upper lower solo parts are layed out all over keyboard so that those 27 oscilators mentioned can be played with (256/27) 9-voice polyphony?

Thanks!

I think you can do something like that.. You could layer all 4 sound parts together, without do splits...

@wladymeer:

The list of waveforms samples includes many classic Roland synths, analog and digital. I think the actual list will be seen when the manual is available for download.

Matrixsynth has a nice collection of info about this so-called "Jupiter" and also the comments are worthwhile reading:

For 3000€ you'd get some real analog synths, or at least more than 4 knobs.

Here is an interesting set of videos that will give you a better idea on the acoustic and synth capability of the Jupiter-80.

http://keyboardmag.com/article/roland-j ... 011/130237

PS: Excellent sounds so far I must admit. But there's still no indication whether the Jupiter-80 runs the full gamut of acoustic sounds or not. If there are only limited acoustic sounds with perhaps "gaping holes in-between" it will be a big letdown needless to say.

The violin, acoustic bass, grand piano, nylon guitar and trumpet are excellent. :) Or so you'll find out too if you listen to the video(s). ;)

So I read through most of the 41 pages so far at gearslutz. :\

http://www.gearslutz.com/board/electron ... ad-40.html

I did, in the process, find half an hour of new Jupiter sounds! A direct recording too - everyone was wearing headphones - so polite.
