Jupiter-80 V2 - LPF comparison

You can find and listen to them also in this blog entry: http://greatsynthesizers.com/en/news-en ... s-filters/

We used exactly the same (moderate) settings to compare the four different LPFs. Only thing that is different between them is of course the filter mode. Recording chain and everything else is exactly the same.

Thanks Peter! Great comparison of the new filters :)

Have you had a chance to review the new sounds?

Thanks to all of you!

We added another one, that hopefully does not make Ray fly high on a red carpet :-)) (a special thanks for that comment). It is a two Partial (Oscillator) sound, no EFX, the "dry" SUPERNatural synthesizer. You can find a more detailed description of "Roland Jupiter-80 V2 - LPF1-3 2Osc" in the Listening Room.

Peter

[EDIT] - sorry cello, forgot to answer your question. There are some nice ones, but now with the filters I will most likely program even more of my own sounds. I am using the Jupiter-80 in the studio for recording into a DAW. Therefore I have no real need for multimode. Although, with just two Partials (Oscillators) I could layer tons of sounds :-)).

Hi Ray,

these sounds are quite simple and easy to program. If you want too I will share. Actually this comes just in time....

Thanks for the info Pete - on the JP-80 I much prefer creating my own sounds but is interesting to know of new 'starting' points and hearing the possibilities of more clever people than me!

Well - it's April now, so sometime soon we'll all be able to explore v2 :)

All this sharing talk reminds me about jp-80.com - must get to work on this soon! I have so many new sounds now - I'm sure there must be others...

Love this demo Peter

By showing how to do it (as opposed to handing over a sound file), users can learn so much more.

Your video also shows everything I love about the JP-80 - quick creativity through the powerful controls! And you didn't even get to the Fx (of which there are more than just reverb and delay, etc - there's step modulators in there as well as so many other goodies)!!

As always - great job :)

Wow no effects ! Peter, this sounds just lovely .
What I am mostly impressed with is your work flow , easy and smooth like on a analog synth .
And it just looks like so much fun .

This is the type of content I would like to see more of on this forum.
We need more tutorials on programming and techniques .
Moderators , can we make a new sticky with this tutorial and a place for more to be added ?

The JP-80 is such a sweetheart and a pleasure every-time .

Thanks a million for this, Peter. This video is utterly brilliant on several levels.

So far, the only programming I've had to do on the JP-80 has been coming up with a square wave patch a la The Cars' "Just What I Needed" because the stock sounds have suited my needs perfectly thus far, but this makes me want to run home and start programming some pads immediately!!

I agree with cello, it's great to learn about other people's approaches & starting points to programming the JP-80, especially for those "Ha! Never would've thought of that!" moments.

I agree Rocness, we definitely need a Sticky Post for "Tutorials" like this one so Peters workshop doesnt go into oblivion. These are helpful for everyone and Peters skills at this is greatly appreciated..Moderators need to do this..
