No Chord Memory Function In The Jupiter 80

Post by Polux »

WHY ?? Image this function is very musical, in the kronos each sound has one chord memory adapted under the mode chord sw, very very good, i think roland would have to insert this in the JUPITER.

I think chord memory (pads - software in Kronos/hardware on OASYS/M3) is more of a workstation function.

JP-80 is not a workstation at all - it's a synth. Automation/arranging is not what it's built to do - it's built to create sounds with an exciting articulation/behaviour layer on top.

Why can't one just play a chord? I never felt the need to have a chord memory function. The 1st synth I ever bought (in 1988), the DX-11, had a similar function, which I never used.

I have a bench and a bungee cord (when I remember it) to keep it folded when I travel. Good function. Oh, and I play my chords.

Use air tools, of course.

Harumph! Must I do all of the thinking around here?
