By analyzing the structure of the JUPITER 80, I read the manual that consists of:
SOLO PART: 1 Tone ( Is a Tone the equivalent of a PROGRAM for Krog or VOICE for Yamaha? )
UPPER PART: Up to 4 Tones
LOWER PART: Up to 4 Tones
PERC.PART: 1 Tone
I therefore assume that if I want to associate a single TONE to a different MIDI channel I will have:
SOLO PART: CH 1
UPPER PART: CH 2/3/4/5
LOWER PART: CH 6/7/8/9
PERC.PART: Ch 10
therefore is it right to say that the J80 is 10 parts multi timbral?
Thanks a lot

Re: JP-80 and sequencer
The Jupiter-80 is only 4 part multitimbral afr. Even though both the UPPER and LOWER "Parts" are comprised of up to four tones (each of which is further made up of up to 3 "partials"), it still "sees" them as a single MIDI part.
A typical 4 part setup is shown below:

thanks a lot for the clarification
anyway I think that will work fine with my Kronos even if it's 4 parts Only

A great pair indeed! I mix my V-Synth's and Jupiter-80 with an old workstation called the "OASYS."
It's my version of "Three of a Perfect Pair"
