Roland JV1080 to Jupiter 80 patch

Post by Jay P80 »

Hi Guys, new user but long time lurker..

I Have recently acquired a new JP80 and i'm trying to recreate a patch from the JV1080 sound module,I sold the sound module a few years ago so have no device to reference but I'd like to try and replicate a particular sound on the JP80 as this patch was one of my favourites,Obviously I'm aware they share no resemblance in terms of direct patch compatibility but having been a long time roland gear user theres plenty of similar sound references inside the JP80's sounds

What I'm after is if someone who owns the JV1080 could be so kind as to tell me the tones that are used inside the patch in the User bank- 103 "letter from Pat" and the particular FX used,i can do the rest and edit the sounds on the JP80 to suit,I have looked on the internet but cannot find any actual literature which shows the actual tones used inside this JV1080 patch,if anyone could help I would be eternally grateful

Also, does anyone know if this JV1080 Patch is contained within the Integra-7 banks,I know the I-7 has a Roland module history of patches so wondered if this patch or one like it is inside this module..

Thanks in advance

Jay

The Patch is indeed in the Integra 7, Here are the parameters as they appear in K_Take's Editor:

Didn't mean to clutter up the thread so bad with the huge images. Sorry about that!

I left out the parameters that didn't look like they had much to do with the patch. I find that when recreating PCM synth patches from my Integra and Fantom the PCM samples in the Supernatural synth are extremely useful. A lot of them line up well in simpler patches even and you can create nearly identical sounds. Good Luck! I like this one so I think I'll try too. Though I think I will use a much more realistic guitar sound!

Hi Macska

No problem about the large images thats fine, any other parameters beyond knowing the Tones used will help immensely thank you so much for taking the time to help i appreciate it greatly,I had got the Jazz guitar tone as i recall that was one of the tones originally but wanted to know what else was sitting underneath,Great to know this patch is also inside the I-7,thanks for all your help guys.

Hi Cello,thanks for that.

I had replicated the sound inside the Fantom G6 I used to have, using similar tones, and got pretty close, but decided to sell the G in order to purchase the Jupiter, which was more the type of instrument I was after, the G whilst a great machine for live was just overkill for my needs as I needed a more stage friendly synth rather than an all rounder workstation and there were a few quirks on the G that Roland failed to address which kind of spoilt the enjoyment of it,so decided to sell it,the sequencer on the G is fantastic but I rarely used it much these last few months.

I haven't really paid much attention to the new FA series as I'm trying to do away with using workstations nowadays, although I've used and had one as an essential tool pretty much since my beginnings including the G and X series but tend to not need much of whats built into them these days.

The JP80 is great as its still the same sort of voice architecture/Terminology that I'm used to with Roland, having pretty much lived and breathed Roland Equipment all my life i consider myself a Veteran of Rolands Gear but I'm still trying to get my head around the quite mad structures of live sets, registration etc,it's superb but a little overwhelming at first, but I'm learning a little more each day.
