808 SP EX E-Mix
Well, I have no experience with these machines whatsoever. My friend and I thought it would be sweet to start making our own "beats" so I bought this thing. I just have the unit, a zip disc and the manual, but does this need a PA system? It doesn't make sound or maybe I'm just not working this thing correctly? Any help for me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.

You have read the manual I hope ?
Name me one electronic instrument (without built in speakers) that doesn't need some sort of amplification / speaker / monitoring system.
You could use headphones for now but you're going to need a mixer and monitors at the very least for the units audio outputs or how else are you going to hear anything ?
