Replacement for 90's SCD-10 Daughterboard?

Does anyone here remember the old Roland daughterboards that would attach to the waveblaster port of a soundcard? It was like having a Sound Canvas inside the computer. Are there any present-day cards available today that accomplish the same task, i.e. providing quality MIDI instruments?
