Alpha Juno 1 Troubles

Post by legalman »

Hi:

First of all, sorry for my english, i´m spanish, i´ll try my best.

Due to a huge storm that affected my Studio, my Juno sadly fall into mud and water. I thought i should throw it to the garbage, but, some weeks after, I turn it on and lights were on, no sound at all but this make me try to clean and repair it. I disassembled it and clean deeply. After that i turn it on and it worked almost well.

The situation now is the next:

1. Sound is Ok.
2. Keyboard is OK
3. Program change is ok, only little fails or "extra pushing" needed.
4. Pitch bend is Ok.

The only remain problem is the editting and midi section, it doesn´t work at all. No midi out/in. No alpha dial, no octave change, chord memory, no parameter editing at all. I repeatedly clean all the connectors from the main board to the affected sections. I after deep inspection, i found no visible signs of breakdown in the different boards´commponents.

I still didn´t change the battery after the rainfall, i did clean all the oxide round the battery, but the display shows the check battery message, but i thought the battery relates only to user programs memory, im I right?

Any idea or advice?

Thanks
