JX-03 E-20 compatibility

Hey guys! I'm quite new to synthesizers but recently bought a JX-03 in hopes of recreating the amazing sound of the JX-3P. My problem though, is that, when I connect the boutique to my E-20 synthesizer, nothing happens. Both devices work perfectly separately, but somehow I can't seem to get them both to work together. Can anyone help me? I've tried to read the manuals of both devices, but that didn't help me at all unfortunately.
