TR808 not playing

for some reason, my 808 will no longer start.. it turns on fine but pressing the play button does nothing, yesterday it worked perfect.. has anyone out there has this happen to them in the past and is there something i can do so it will play again?

Old drum machine ( Vintage ). It seems to me that it's due for a service.

make sure the din-sync switch on the rear of the 808 is set to OUTPUT, if it''s set INPUT it will not start.
if step number 1 is not flashing then the din-sync switch is set to INPUT.

i know this a old post… open it up an check the ribbon cable to the switch board. make sure its secured in place.
