Tr-8 to MC-909

Post by dcer10 »

I am trying to record patterns from my TR-8 into my MC-909 to play using the internal MC-909 drum sounds.

The notes show up on the MC-909 sequencer and with some transposing I can get the right note numbers mapped but for some odd reason the internal sounds on the MC-909 do not respond. I can TR record the same notes using it the same drum patch fine.

Any ideas as to why this might be happening?

I know this is old but lets see if this helps over in the menu/midi/midi receive tab everything should be set to on. Under seq sync tab set to slave. Now I believe all the mc909 parts are hard wired to corresponding midi channels which means on your TR8 output channel you need to be on the same channel as the mc909 part channel. Example on mc909 part 9 , sound drum kick = midi channel 9. So on the TR8 you need midi going out channel 9.

Don't hold me to this as I do not have a TR8. But on my electribe 2 that is how I do it.
