TR-8 Bassline Stutter (80's Style)

Post by arrkeys »

I am new to midi and a little beyond frustrated at this point. I recently picked up a TR-8 and I can't seem to figure out how to use it to make my Korg Kronos do a simple 80's stutter bass line. I have looked on youtube and in the online Roland manual to try to find out how to achieve this, but no luck. I have my midi cables plugged TR-8 midi out to Kronos midi in and Kronos midi out to TR-8 midi in. I have turned on the arpeggiator in the Kronos. My end goal would be to have the TR-8 play a beat I have programmed with the Kronos synced to it and me playing the bass lines live. In the 80's, this is apparently how they did it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Dp9t1IMBv8
