MC-80: how to bring existing MIDI data into current song?

Hi,

Hope this is the right section of the forum.

I love working with my MC-80 sequencer but there is something I can't work out. How can I bring some existing MIDI data into the current song?

It might be a track from another song, an SMF file, anything. Something I'm happy with and would like to use in the current song.

I can't currently see any direct way to do it. This baffles me because I know it is possible with MC-50, XP-80, Fantom X/G, MV series...

At the moment, the only way I can see is to load the track I want to "import" into another sequencer and play it into the MC-80 MIDI IN port while the two machines are synchronised. Is there another way?
