U-20 Minor Electronic Issues: Fixable?

Post by mlochala »

I'm having a couple of issues with my U-20. Neither are really serious, but I'd like to repair them nonetheless if I can.

First of all, the slider switch for changing parameters is acting up. It's very sensitive (always has been, actually) and if you slide it a certain way and stop, the data keeps going as if you are still sliding the switch. Is this simply a case of needing to be cleaned (such as dust buildup) or is this more likely the switch is going bad? In spite of its age, as little as this synth has actually been used, the switch CAN'T be wore it. It just hasn't been used that much.

Secondly, when I press the "Chord 2" button, it does not light up. Is this fixable?

I have some experience doing electronic repairs and soldering, so I am fully capable of doing this myself. I would just like to know if anyone has had experience with these issues and how they repaired them (if they did).
