Roland D50 does it worth ?

Post by fddi73 »

Hello,
I have a Juno G but I cannot reproduce old Roland sounds like PizzaGoGo

so I am thinking to buy a Roland D50 they can be found at good price.
But I have a few questions:

1) how good are the patches like pipe organs or pianos ? are they acceptable ?

2) how hard is to find D50 patches around ? the synth comes with few patches in the internal bank

3) how programmable is D50 ? With Ensoniq ESQ1 you can do easily all sort of things, but is Roland D50 flexible to program or it needs PG-1000 ?

thank you

There is a lot of D-50 patches around. Try THIS link.

I strongly recommend PG-1000 (or a computer-based midi sysex editor) for the D-50 if you want to make your own sounds.
