Is there a way to control the filter for all partials at the same time? I can do each partial within a tone, but it would be better to be controlling the filter for the whole output at the same time....any ideas?

That's a good idea....I will see if I can assign a knob on my controller to send aftertouch to the D-550, thanks for the tip.

I think aftertouch too.

You just have to set "Filter Cutoff" controlled by Velocity. It works, but sometimes it is difficult to play. It primary works good on sequenced sounds like arpeggios etc. It does not work for long filter sweeps on pads, for example.
