LOL!!!

OK.
Like I said I was (am) just kidding.
In fact I DO feel some simpathy for you cause I do own an original D-50 - NOT trying to make you jealous - in almost perfect condition and that I "passionately" still use in my music. This synth is great.

I would not mind to share some D-50 samples but the fact is that I really don't have the time to sample it. Maybe in the future - to keep your "blog" ALIVE ;-)

Meanwhile, good August and a nice rest of the year to :-)))

BTW guys, soon I will put some of the Fantom-multisampled sounds from my VC-1 D-50 emulator online for free. These will be original sounds, not D-50 presets. I also plan sampling basic waves like saw, sine, square, pulse, PWM, etc.

Fix:

Hey, nice to hear you have a D-50! This synth has a very cool character in all the sounds. I wanted to ask, have you tried the D-50 patches I created with my VC-1? There is a bank dump MIDI file which is compatible with D-50: http://artemiolabs.com/downloads/patches/roland-d50/.

thanks artemio...
i'm largely interested in cool atmos strings and pads sounds...
this is not a request..only my preference,it wil be nice a complete or almost D50 set for our Fantoms...isn't it?
can't we just create it?...mmmm
why can't you put the real D50 presets here?
there are some copyrights problem...?
the same that have closed the nicebeats sites?
i heard a rumor....don't remember where...
but i don't believe that...
if its so ,also mine samples will have to be altered ?or not..
don't wanna give problems to Fantomized ,to you Artemio and of course to me,,,but i need to expand..my Roland Philosophy
i'm gonna create a collection named 50 Memoryes ,or or maybe Juicy memoryes....,don't know....
i will update you step by step..by the way just for Fantoms and Tritons..

ps
nicebeats site is underconstruction now...let's cross our fingers
bye

Actually I wouldn't sample D-50's ROM waves as that's probably a copyright violation. But soon I will take time to make some of my own interesting patches resampled in Fantom-S/X format.

ok...i too think so
i will wait a little,
maybe we can make some short tracks
of 3 mins each one, where we play the single patch
around few notes,c3,c4..,c2...and c3,c4....
a sort of minimalistic songs,
then everyone can take this short track and
extract the simple waves played in it...
you know with our fantoms we can make the songs
we want using the sounds located in it...
maybe it's a little complicate...but,,possible

''Actually I wouldn't sample D-50's ROM waves as that's probably a copyright violation''

Hummmm I don't think so, no more than complete patches.
By the way all the samples I made are from rom waves data (M1rex and SRX-99), and most of them are available at Fantomized.

And obviously there is no way a handfull of D-50 waves samples could replace the real deal (D-50 or VC-1)

bisibuu,
a) Are you asking for the Preset Patch List NAMES?

b) I guess we could say that the breathy and pad patches are "similar" but this is in fact no true. You see, there's almost 20 years diference between them and the D-50 has a "caracter" of its own.

c)I think its better if you remove the "END" from the tittle thread because this thread it's still ALIVE, it came back from the deads, it's ALIVE.... ;-)))))

Artemio
I had a card almost full of my own D-50 patches but unfortunatly I forgot to change the card battery and lost them years ago. Still I was able to recover just a few. I would be glad to share. Would you be interested ? I would send you the sysex data - don't really have time to sample.

Regards

Fix, that would be cool! I don't know how to send a pure .syx file, but if you create a MIDI file that will send the sysex dump when played, I could then load the sounds into my VC-1, and also this would also be useful for VC-1 users @V-Tribe.

BTW, have you ever tried my VC-1/D-50 patches in your D-50? I would really be glad to hear they work in a real D-50.

Artemio,
Yes, that was my initial idea.

You know... damm ... I do have a copy of the VC-1 editor (with compliments from my Roland friends ;-)) but guess what.. never had the chance to try it with my D-50 and... the same with your patches. I truly hope and believe it will work, beeing the sysex the same for both units as announced by Roland (that's why I asked for a copy of the editor anyway)

I'm into some really annoying personal issues here that I really have to manage but I promise I'll try your patches and send you mine in the next few days.

Regards
