Post by Atziluth »

Well, also some new boards from Yamaha.

I had a listen to them and I was speechless!!!! Absolutely amazing sound (great piano!!!!!!!!!)

Have a listen to yourself.

I have also to check them out in a musicstore.

Too bad I already have a Fantom X8... however I wouln't dump it for any digital piano because with its 16 parts in performance mode, large intuitive display and instant acoustic piano at the push of a button it's hard to beat in terms of ease of use... I'd get a yamaha board if it has 76 lightweight synth-keys, 4 arps, no sequencer nor sampler (in order to keep the price down) and MORE controllers than the motif series (instead of LESS). I know Bert is telling the contrary but seeing only 4 sliders instead of the 8 (and also knowing Yamaha's way of designing things - meaning 2 or 3 simultaneous buttons to be held to enter a particular menu) does not seem too "live friendly" to me...

P.S. If it turns out I'm mistaken maybe a S90XS + Fantom X7 could be a better combo than a Fantom X8 + Motif XS7... at least cheaper if not better. Now... who wants to swap his X7 + a SRX card for my X8? :)
