Akai MINIAK is Alesis Ion inside?

Reading the MINIAK's manual revealed that it might be actually based on Alesis Ion:

the miniak was co-developed by Akai and Alesis, both owned by Numark, it looks and sounds like a micron, which is based on the Ion. So, it wouldn't surprise me if they just use an ion/micron-like engine in an akai body, put a mic on it, and sell it as a new product.
