Roland KR4500 Can this problem be fixed ?

Hello,
Can someone please tell me what the following problem might be with our Roland KR4500. It was given to us by a friend because it didn't work anymore. I did read all of the other post, but none were about the following problem. When the power is turned on the LED window does light up but there are no words in the window and the piano does not make any sound at all. We turned it off and back on, then a few letters appeared so briefly that we could not read what it said and the rest of the lights across the keyboard also lit up briefly this time. We did try the factory reset but it didn't help. Any input you might have is greatly appreciated. Thank you

I have the very same situation with my KR-4500 and am interested in any solutions folks have found.
