Lionstracs Linux Based Synths

Post by madAhorn »

Did you know this?
"Still today, Windows based system are NOT able to running multiple ASIO/VST Host on same audio card( windows OS Issue). Still without also the possibility to jump in realtime for LIVE performace from one ASIO host to another Host just by pressing one desidered Multitask hardware key! Without the possibility to running Multiple ASIO Host, the Standard Windows PC products are NOT allowed to manage multiple Midi controllers for each independent running application. JUST ONE application at Time can be controlled.

The future is based by Linux software with 64bit CPU/OS, Sounds STREAMING SYSTEM from HD and MULTIPLE ASIO/VST Support. Embedded closed dated recycled system will NEVER follow the 64bit CPU power, VST/ASIO and Video system. IF you are looking for VST Plugins, Multiple ASIO HOST,GIGA Sampler sounds,Video Streaming, Audio-Midi SEQUENCER Integrated, then your system and keyboard is ONLY the LIONSTRACS PRO KEYBOARDS."

THE LIVE EXAMPLE IS HERE:

Adam, Macs could do this years ago... The core audio and MIDI technologies allow to use any audio or MIDI device with any number of hosts, so you can just do what you want really without any fuss, without even going into any system settings. Just launch all the software you need, and pick the desired interfaces as you want, that's it.

Linux still has many problems, I am afraid:

- Very, very poor compatibility with pro audio hardware. Since Linux kernel doesn't really allow closed-source drivers, open source opens are made by hobbyist programmers... Do not expect much from this.

- Very, very few native software available. Years pass by but it just doesn't appear to be even 10% of what I need every day. Again, due to it's free model, no one can develop really high quality stuff.

- Still a lot of work to do to configure a working system. Not much in terms of audio/MIDI will work out of the box. Forget about using Roland gear because most drivers are, once again, written by hobbyist programmers and appear 2-3 years after the instrument gets to the market, or never.

You will waste even more time with Linux that you do with Windows. At least on Windows you get a lot of software to choose from, stuff works decently out of the box with audio/MIDI.

But of course if you want the ultimate experience, Mac is in it's own category.

Is it true that Windows cannot host multiple devices like this?
