EMU 1616m and Windows 7

Post by Patrick_ »

At this point I'm in denial. Last year I bought an EMU 1616m but my WinXP computer was 32 bit--the EMU worked just fine but the max RAM limitations on the motherboard of my old PC made it difficult to upgrade. So I bought a new PC with 6GB of ram, Win 7. One problem. The EMU is 32 bit and Win 7 is 64 bit. So I can only record at the absolute lowest bitrate(the 1616m can record at 192 on Win XP but only 44.1 on Win 7) And that's with absolutely no effects. The EMU is PCI by the way. I remember distinctly looking at firewire interfaces but $400 later I'm stuck with the EMU and it doesn't look like they are going to manufacture drivers for Win 7. Which makes it a $400 paperweight.
If anybody else out there has one of these and has figured out any solution whatsoever I'll name my next housepet after you. Everybody else can just weep with me.
