This thing is a best! Kronos is good but its still a digital synth and sounds a little like M3 (though better synth engines and resolution). You could get somewhat similar with M3 and a nice effects processor on your computer.

DSI Roger Linn Tempest is simply amazing on the other hand: real analog fatness you can't get with hardware! As Roland fans, we should know this. Roland hasn't sold us a modern real-analog beast, so the best thing is to get it from the fathers of MIDI and digital drum machine.

I would shake the hand of Dave Smith for pushing analog purity in the modern days! He really makes the best out of both worlds, having digital control, memory, and even USB there.
