Looks quite sleek at first, but that tiny LCD screen... brrrr...
You got it wrong... The MO is a lite ES, yeah. But the MM was basically a toy, and worse than a MO. The new MOX doesn't get its wave rom from the new XF but the older XS.Parsifal wrote:Well, time for a little history:
High-end - corresponding - mid / low end (in the same timeframe)
Motif to (nothing)
Motif ES to MO
Motif XS to MM
Motif XF to MOX
? to MOFOX (or maybe MMF?)
:D
Constructive criticism: it's Yamama, not Yamana. :)))
maybe you should have read what I've put into brackets :)MrDuke wrote:You got it wrong... The MO is a lite ES, yeah. But the MM was basically a toy, and worse than a MO. The new MOX doesn't get its wave rom from the new XF but the older XS.Parsifal wrote:Well, time for a little history:

Exactly, and IMHO they are not bad at all, actually...Parsifal wrote:...I'm mainly poking at names, not making any synth comparisons here. I agree with your description though (except I don't think MOX will have full XS waverom anyway so it doesn't matter which Motif they're based of). Should they have put their 4-tiered chord-recognition arpeggiators on the MOX, they might have hit a real success. But as it is I still think Kurzweil PC361 (or the PC3LE61 for budget buyers) to rule over this one. At least those have a VA inside. Oh, and Yammie and Kurz menus are equally awful... that's why they both have a computer editor :D
Edited: I was referring to the computer Editors, of course ;-)PauloF wrote:Exactly, and IMHO they are not bad at all, actually...Parsifal wrote:...I'm mainly poking at names, not making any synth comparisons here.
