New poly aftertouch keyboard from Endeavour (NDVR)

Post by Arjan »

Hi guys,

Couldn't find any previous threads on this so here goes. Endeavour has started a crowdfunding campaign through Indiegogo for a range of master keyboards with polyphonic aftertouch (poly AT for search engines).

Models planned are 25, 49 and 61 keys. One difference with regular aftertouch is that the sensors measure the whole travel range of the key. This may be either an advantage or a disadvantage depending on your view or taste but I'm more than willing to give it a try. In fact I have already secured my own 61 keys specimen.

I'm not affiliated with Endeavour in anyway, I just stumbled upon this yesterday while doing my regular Google search for any news on poly aftertouch. I already have a pending order for the CME X-Key but that has been delayed for some time now.

I have been playing with the idea to make a poly aftertouch keyboard myself (in fact I already got me some Hall sensors for just that purpose) but the reality is that I do not have the time to make it happen so I was very pleased to learn about this project and I really hope they will reach their goal.

Here's the correct link (for some reason I cannot edit my original post):

as it turns out the response curve is customizable to such an extent that it will respond like a regular pressure based aftertouch keyboard. This is done _within_ the unit using the internal 12 bit resolution so that's good. This feature is also shown in their latest YouTube video.
