Edirol Pcr-800

Post by Dtscape50 »

Hi,
Really hope someone can help. Borrowed an Edirol pcr-800 of a friend. Using a macbook pro with Big Sur, latest upto date os.
So I tried uploading the correct driver for the keyboard. Nothing showed on my midi page. After several failed attempts I thought I'd connect it through a normal midi cable into my presonus audiobox. Nothing worked. I know the midi works as I've used other controller keyboards through it. I even tried the sys08 midi through USB off... didn't work.
I then made a big mistake of trying to update the keyboards software, currently 1.03 version. But I suddenly realised the computer can't see the keyboard to send the update...
I now have an error 'fff' code that I can't exit out of.

Can anyone help?...

Please its driving me nuts!!
Thank you in advance.

"Roland Edirol PCR-300 firmware update
I see that there's a firmware update available on the site and wonder if that'll do the trick. Proceed to follow Roland's instructions.
Process doesn't complete, keyboard doesn't work anymore. Did I brick this?
Well actually no, tried doing the update again on a Windows 7 system and it works like a charm.
TLDR: If you're googling 'did I brick my PCR-300' chances are you didn't. There's just no support for the drivers on Windows 10 and you can still carry on the update with a Windows 7 PC or possibly a Mac."
