How do I update my firmware XV-5080?

Newbie here. Thanks for having me!

I've got the info loaded onto the SmartMedia card but I can't figure out the next step. Any help would be very nice.

Hi Cole,

With the power off and the SmartMedia card in your XV-5080, press and hold the 'DEC' and the 'C' buttons. With them still pressed, turn the power on. It should ask you if you want to update, so select yes (by pressing 'INC').

Now wait until it has completed, and it should say 'Complete update' or something and the A to H lights will flash. Power the unit down and turn it back on again and you should have the new operating system up and running.

Warning: do not turn the 5080 off until you get the complete message. It shouldn't take long (less than a minute if I recall correctly.)

If that doesn't work, there is also a way to send the update via MIDI so let me know and I can send the instructions. Good luck.
