Roland xp and Ableton Live set up

Hi Guys!
I'm having a hard time setting up my rolanand xp 50 to my ableton live 8. I already hooked it up with my midi cable. At ableton Preference midi sync, i set up usb 2.0 midi for input and output but for the control surface, i just placed an MPK61 since there's no roland products in there, then i clicked dump. So i checked if ableton is reading the xp 50. I found out that when i opened the instrument (keys grand hall, there's no sound coming out but the midi track indicator from Ableton is blinking and the track volume is showing green light (also blinking).
Please let me know how to properly set up my keyboards in order that ableton live will be able to read it.
