And then there were...

Four!

I had disconnected my JD-990 that didn't have the Vintage Synth expansion board installed but started having fun stacking different patches and thought well if three sound so good, four has got to be better!

MASSIVE!

The inside synth voice speaks: Leon...Leon...you know you want one mate! (or two or three, or four, and on and on...)

The 990 is calling you!! ;-0>

Saw where someone picked one up for $250 the other day on Vintage Synth Explorer Leon.

There is a gorgeous patch from the JD9D-1 Modern Masters card by Andrew Schlesinger called "Caladan Sea" that is the BOMB on this thing!!

Not bad...I paid $350 for my 4th and then spent about $150 for the JV80-04 and about $90 for a M256E type card from Voice Crystal.

Thanks Paulo. I originally was going to stack them but I find that I really don't need 96 voices from some of those rich 4-tone 990 pads. I have been having more fun setting all four to the same MIDI channel and getting four different massive swirling, vectoring pads going at once.

I recently left a message on VSE about the 990 and a listen to all four of the demo songs on that video clip reminded me of why I fell in love with the 990 in the first place. City Weeps (Eric Persing!), Common Ground and Chameleon 990 are just sooo lovely!

I also give a big round of applause to Synth Mania for posting all of the Internal, A & B Banks, Performance and even select Vintage Synth expansion board sounds...great stuff!
