JD-990 Display

Postby Stratgear » 16:44, 26 January 2014

I love this synth module. The display is acting strange lately, I suspect that it will die soon :( Is there a place where I can buy a replacement one? (some sort of supplier, not ebay)

Thanks!

I think that in 5-7 years there will be no functional displays commonly shared by JD-880, XP-80, XV-5080, MC-80 (among others), because they are not available new, as a spare, or as serviced. I made an exhaustive research, and even came to the part number (from XP-80 service manual), which is: 15029559. It is LCD Display, made by Sharp under codename LCM32080YGV.

Roland never made a stock of those LCD's, and they are forever gone. The only way to use these instruments is to connect them to the computer editor. Good luck with that.
