Hi,
Has anyone ever converted the factory patches from the JD990 with the SR-JV80-04 (Vintage Synth) board into a format for the XV5080 with the SRX-07 (Ultimate Keys)? As I understand it so far, the XV5080 should have nearly all the functionality of the JD-990 with some minor exceptions (x-mod), and the SRX-07 board is supposed to contain "all the waveforms from Roland’s popular SR-JV80-04 Vintage Synth" (quote from Roland's site).
TIA,
JD-990+JV80-04 to XV5080+SRX-07

These are the Midi files and Patch name lists for the 04 waves on SRX-07.
They use to be on the Roland US site but I couldn't find them on their new site.
I have included all the patches relevant for the SRX-07.
You can use your DAW or MidiOx's MIDIBar player to send the files.
Enjoy

Re: JD-990+JV80-04 to XV5080+SRX-07
Royce your a legend for up loading this. Just purchased a XV5080 and got the SRX-07 board in it. I can now have all the old vintage boards sounds again. Do you know if they sound identical to the sr-jv80-04 board?
Thanks again

Hi Sol
as far as I know (I don't have any sr-jv80 boards) they are the same waves - some had name changes.
The XV series was built on the earlier JD architecture so I am guessing that they would sound close.
I have an XV3080 that I love and a FanX8. The same patches (using the same waves) sound a little different to my ears. The XV sounds a bit warmer and perhaps a bit woolier to the crisp FanX so I am guess that the JD might also sound a bit different.
I think they all had different DACs and analog output circuits.
All the best

Re: JD-990+JV80-04 to XV5080+SRX-07
I know that this is a 2 yr old thread but do I just transfer the midi files to my Fantom X6? I have 2 JD 900's with the Vintage and Sounds of the 60's/70's cards installed. I would like to transfer the sounds to the X6 so as to not carrying the full rack of synths to practices and jam nights. I found that sampling was ok but not great. I read on another forum (Gslutz) that the SRX card vers did not sound as good as the JV versions. Any and all help and advice is greatly appreciated.
