JV 1080 sustain

Post by gillang2 »

Hi! Is there a way to adjust the "sustain" when you use a sustain pedal. The result I got now using a piano patch with the JV 1080 and a sustain pedal is just too over the top.

Sorry, but how do you want it to change?

Press down the pedal and it sustains with a slow decay.
Release the pedal and all the notes not pressed down should go to the release phase of the patch.

Is the pedal release not working?
Is the pedal reversed - pedal up is sustain ON and pedal down is sustain OFF
There is sometimes a switch on the pedal to swap this otherwise you may have to open the pedal up and re solder the lead or build an adapter lead.
eg Yamaha pedals are reversed compared to what the Roland is expecting.

I have a Roland DP10 on my Yamaha Motif and built a simple plug and socket lead to swap it so I didn't have to open the new pedal up.

If you have a PC, use MidiOx to see what midi messages are being sent out.

The pedal's working just fine.I did customized it so it can be use whatever the polarity is. The problem is that the decay is way too slow.
