Backing up a JV-1010

Post by vsyn7425 »

Hi all. Unlike the JV-1080 and JV-2080 the JV-1010 has no way to bulk dump the user memories via sysex from the actual unit itself. So a request must be made via midi to dump them. Please use the following sysex string to request the full user memories as detailed on page 81 of the owners manual.

F0 41 10 6A 11 00 00 00 00 11 7F 17 01 58 F7

This includes the following:

504 System Common/Part Scale Tune/Patch Scale Tune
653 Temporary Performance Common/Part 1 to 16
14114 Performance Mode Temp Patches/Temp Rhythm
645 Patch Mode Temporary Patch
20896 User Performance 1 to 32/Part 1 to 16
8878 User Rhythm Setup/User 1/User 2
82560 User Patch Bank
------
128250 bytes

Using one sysex string to request the above is the simplest and most efficient way as there is only one way traffic to the midi recorder after the sysex string is sent. SendSX and MidiOx are great midi utilities that do the job well.
