XV-88 Switching from Patch to Performance via MIDI

Post by NPonte »

Hello all. I have 2 old synths (XV-88 and XP-30) which I am trying to patch/perf select using forScore. My problem is changing mode to and from Performance/Patch on the XV-88 via MIDI. (I did find system exclusive msg(s) that handled this for the XP-30.) I have tried a couple of documented SysEx msgs, Bank Select msgs, but none work. The patch and perf changes work on the XV88 as long as I manually select the mode before sending the messages. I have also tried changing the device id on the XV-88, along with the documented SysEx messages, but no dice.

My XP30 is configured for MIDI channel 1 for patch; 16 for Control Channel.
MY XV88 is configured for MIDI channel 2 for patch; 15 for Control Channel.

I'd appreciate if anyone could give me a clue. Thanks, Nick

From the XV-88 user manual's Midi Implementation it looks like it's Sysex header is
F0 41 10 00 10 12
Whereas the XP-30's header is
F0 41 10 6A 12
Hope this helps.
