I own a JP8000 and it is a bloody good synth.
Mine screwed up recently but I changed the internal battery and did a system reset thingy and it lives again.
I wouldn't be without it.

Long live the JP8000!!!

of all the dumb things I've done - selling my jp-8000 has to be right there near the top. I was in a bind at the time but it stills sucks to think about. My micron has a lot of cool sounds but the overall package of the Roland was way sexier! Hey Roland, how about a Super JP keyboard?

This is my second JP8000 as I did the same mistake of selling my orginal JP 2 years ago.I too had financial probs.
I missed it so much,I had to buy another one.
Luckely they are quite cheap now in the second hand market.
Perhaps get another one:)

After getting a portable keyboard amp, new mixer, pre-amp/compressor, music laptop, Synthogy Ivory, Sony Vegas software, HD video camera, etc.,etc., I think I will get another Jp-8000. ha! ha!

That's my wish list in case I wasn't clear. The amp is coming soon but the rest, including 'JP', will have to wait. The 'British' English to 'American' English translating dictionary in my head says 'Splashed' means 'Splurged'. Is that right? Or maybe it means the big belly-flop you do in the pool after telling your friends to watch?

Hey, I checked the song samples on your web-page - nice sound! Everybody, take a listen to Synthia - she's got it going on!

I've got a V-Synth but I still miss my JP-8000. It was stupid in so many ways, but brilliant for analog tweaking with one knob per parameter. And the low pass filter sounded better than Roland's current VA keyboards, the VSynth and its siblings.

So never again will I sell a keyboard :)

slargthorb,
I'm glad that you liked my tunes:)
Yeah, splashed out means spent alot as far as I know.
I'm German so I'm not perfect in the english language:))
I know what it is like to have a long wishlist.
My first thing is to replace my V-Synth which I had to sell last year due to some cash flow probs.
I really miss that crazy beast.
I also want a video-dvd combination recorder,a modern computer,new speakers etc...
It's a never ending list.

LivePsy,
I miss my V-Synth like shit.The V-Synth is a great sound mangler.
I will never ever sell a synth again.I rather go without food:))

I know I am a little late in the game with regard to this thread but I love the JP-8000. The synth is great fun and still has some serious balls. I MIDI'ed mine to an SH-32 - mmmmmmmmm VA heaven. I realize that the SH-32 has more polyphony, but, I have larger workstations to deal with that. But for really fat VA goodness in terms of leads and pads, these two MIDI'ed together to me at least sound a hell of a lot better than a Radias.
