Voice Modulator midi transfer to JP8000

Post by KRE8A »

Hello,

It's been a while.

I'm finding difficulties with voice modulator to respond as musical digital performance data from JP8000 - Which I'm using as a midi controller.

1. I have the midi cable inserted into the Remote Keyboard In with other end jacked into midi out of JP8000.

2. I switch both devices on and execute Factory Reset. I turn devices off and on, for a refresh.

3. I toggle on Voice Mod Switch and then activate Voice Mod Lower / Upper.

4. I then select F.MT.Filter.

5. I toggle the External In button and insert a mono mic.

6. I deactivate Local in JP8000.

7. I set midi channels for the Upper / Lower in both devices - Midi data linkage.

8. I set Midi Sync on, for midi external clock (JP8080).

9. Tx / Rx Edit _ Rx Exclusive _ Tx Rx Prog - Activated in JP8080.

Now, when I INC volume on JP8080 and trigger any of the Lower / Upper keys on JP8000, there is no sound at all.

Only when I switch the Voice Mod button off, sound waves gate thru. Therefore, musical performance data is signaled, however not when Voice Mod is activated.

I have checked the mic and is working thru other outboard gear.

Either I'm making an error with parameter settings / midi connection or possibly there is a diagnostic issue with Voice Mod Generator.

I really need to get this going for a track I'm developing.

Help with this matter appreciated.

Haven't been in here for a while... been busy.
Analogue modelling synth external input front / rear switch was at fault.
Took it to Roland Synth Services and Providers for service and repair.
Works very well since switch replacement and service.
