hi there,
i connected the ipad (ipad 1; iOS 8) with the camera connection kit to the jp 50. jp 50 is set to generic midi.
when i press the read button, the settings of the upper tone are shown on the ipad. so far so good.
but using the knobs an sliders of the app has no effect on the sound of the jp 50.
anybody an idea?
thanks for some advice.

There is an ad hoc mode where you do not have to have a cable connected. Does the cable give power to the ipad?
Re: jp synth editor app again
No, the USB cable does not deliver power to the iPad. That is, the keyboard will not keep the iPad's battery charged. Its USB port does not have that kind of power capability.
When you connect the iPad to the keyboard via a WIFI adapter, you have the option of two different modes of WIFI connection. In normal mode, the keyboard and iPad communicate via a WIFI router. In Ad Hoc mode, the keyboard and iPad communicate directly with one another without going through a WIFI router. I normally use Ad Hoc mode.
