Motional surround in stereo mode

Post by Catarsis »

Hi !

Is there a point to use Motional surround in stereo mode ? Any advantages over standard reverb-chorus-panorama ?
How will it sound, when playing back via large stage speaker systems ?

On stage, bandmembers are placed in different points - from listeners point of view - the drummer is in the in the middle, but away from you, singer in "face to face", guitar player or k-boards are somewhere in the middle of left and right side of stage. This is, what Motional surround steo mode should be about. BUT ! The sound of a band does not come from the point of bandmembers, but from stereo speakes, that makes this Motional Surround stereo pointless, unless you try to make some symphonic or "acoustic" type of music with Integra.

Or does it function like "room simulator" to make the itmall sound more natural ? Most profi studios use natural room reverb for drums and even capture the natural room reverb for guitars ect instead of digital revberators or delays. Is Motional asurround any good to simulate this ?

Oh and Does Ntegra record the Motional Surround stereo mode to DAW via usb audio connection, or is this just for playback ?
